Boxee the cross-platform, open-source media center include social networking features will released a public Alpha version to Windows this summer. As Boxee team said earlier that until the date for Beta launch the team will looking forward to receive feedback from PC users. And the day is 7th of Decembers. Boxee Beta will be revealed at a special event at the Music Hall of Williamsburg in New York City.
In the event they will demo the new Beta Boxee, and launch new applications from partners and 4-weeks early access for users to testing the Boxee beta before launch it to the public at CES on January 7th 2011. And it is entirely different from the Alpha.
Here are the highlight of the Boxee beta version:
1. New User Interface (UI)
2. Improvement Navigation
3. Allow users to find TV shows and movies on the internet and local network (LAN)
4. User controlled Queque
5. Shortcuts to movies, programs and applications,etc
